Can a Pre-Transplant HPV shot protect patients after surgery?

NCT ID NCT03036930

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving the HPV vaccine to adults before they get a kidney transplant can help their bodies build a strong immune response. After the transplant, patients take drugs that weaken the immune system to prevent rejection. The goal is to see if the vaccine still works to protect against HPV-related cancers even with these drugs. About 51 people are taking part.
