Could less radiation be enough? new trial adjusts treatment midway for HPV-Positive throat cancer

NCT ID NCT03215719

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether people with HPV-positive throat cancer can safely receive lower doses of radiation if their tumors shrink quickly during treatment. About 120 participants will have their treatment plan adjusted based on early scans and blood tests. The goal is to see if reducing radiation still keeps the cancer from coming back for at least two years.
