Special MRI spots brain tumor chemistry in 12 patients

This study tested a new imaging technique using a special substance (hyperpolarized carbon-13 alpha-ketoglutarate) to see how active brain tumors are in people with IDH mutant glioma. Twelve adults with this type of brain tumor received an injection and then had an MRI scan. The goal was to measure signals from the tumor and surrounding brain tissue to better understand the tumor's behavior.
