First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study follows 200 families in Denmark who are waiting for an assessment at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Researchers will track changes in children's mental health and parental stress over one year using questionnaires and interviews. The goal is to understand how waiting affects well-being and what factors influence outcomes.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If this study succeeds, it could help improve how mental health services manage waiting lists to reduce stress for children and parents.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only measures experiences, so it won't directly improve care. Results may not apply outside Denmark.
