NCT ID NCT04128761

Summary

This study aimed to understand how feeling financially strained might affect people with alcohol use disorder. Researchers had 124 participants listen to different audio stories—one about financial scarcity and one neutral—to see if it changed their alcohol cravings or made them more likely to choose immediate rewards over larger, later ones. The goal was to gather knowledge about the link between economic stress and harmful drinking behaviors.
