Scientists probe tonsils to unlock secrets of nasal flu vaccine

NCT ID NCT07093281

Summary

This study aims to understand how the nasal spray flu vaccine affects the immune system in the nose and throat. Researchers will give the FDA-approved nasal vaccine to 25 people scheduled for tonsil or adenoid removal surgery for sleep apnea. They will then study the removed tissue to see how the vaccine changed the immune cells there, which normally gets thrown away after surgery.
