First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at how a single day of fasting or eating very few carbs changes the way healthy adults process sugar and fats after a meal. Sixteen participants tried three different eating patterns in random order, then had their blood tested after a standard meal. The goal was to understand how short-term dietary changes affect metabolism, which could help people make informed choices about eating patterns like intermittent fasting.
