Doctors' gut feelings: does race or a hobby sway heart risk calls?

NCT ID NCT07162376

Summary

This study aimed to understand how doctors judge a patient's risk of a serious heart event. Researchers surveyed 300 heart, emergency, and hospital doctors, asking them to assess fictional patient profiles. The study checked if factors like a patient's race, gender, or personal hobbies influenced the doctors' risk estimates, compared to a standard medical scoring tool.
