New hope for breast cancer patients suffering severe hot flashes

Summary

This study is testing a medication called fezolinetant to see if it can safely reduce the number and severity of hot flashes in women who are taking hormone therapy for breast cancer. About 540 women with stage 0-3 breast cancer who have at least 7 moderate-to-severe hot flashes per day will take either the real drug or a placebo pill daily for one year. The main goal is to see if the drug helps women have fewer and less intense hot flashes compared to the placebo.
