Computer alerts aim to curb hospital antibiotic overuse

NCT ID NCT07115966

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple computer alert can help doctors use antibiotics more appropriately in hospitals. The alert reminds doctors to review antibiotic prescriptions after 72 hours to see if they're still needed. Researchers will measure if this reduces unnecessary antibiotic use and prevents the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
