Could a hormonal IUD replace surgery for some uterine cancers?
NCT ID NCT02397083
First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether a hormonal intrauterine device (IUD) alone or combined with the drug everolimus can treat precancerous changes or early-stage, low-grade endometrial cancer. About 102 participants will receive the IUD, and if it doesn't work after 3 months, some also get everolimus. The goal is to control the disease and avoid more invasive treatments like surgery.
