First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This completed study looked at how COVID-19 infection changes hormone levels and markers of inflammation in the body. Researchers followed 220 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, testing their blood and doing physical exams at admission, during their stay, and 3 and 6 months after discharge. The goal was to see if the virus causes hormone problems and whether people with existing endocrine conditions are more at risk.
