Sweet remedy? honey paste trial aims to shrink dangerous artery plaque
NCT ID NCT07314775
Summary
This study is testing whether a traditional honey-based paste can help reduce plaque buildup in neck arteries and improve cholesterol levels. About 422 adults with artery plaque and high cholesterol will receive either the real honey paste or a look-alike placebo for one year, in addition to their standard medications. Researchers will measure changes in artery thickness, plaque size, cholesterol, and quality of life to see if the treatment is safe and effective.
