Can a supplement boost muscle for athletes and the undernourished?

NCT ID NCT05444959

Summary

This study tested whether a supplement called HMB can improve muscle mass, strength, and fitness in two groups: well-trained athletes and people showing signs of malnutrition. For 21 days, 130 participants took either HMB or a placebo while following different exercise routines. Researchers measured changes in body composition, fitness tests, and blood markers to see if HMB helped the body respond better to physical stress.
