Simpler HIV pill for teens shows promise in major trial

NCT ID NCT03682848

Summary

This study tested a simpler, two-drug HIV treatment in teenagers who had never taken HIV medication before. The goal was to see if taking fewer drugs could still effectively control the virus for up to three years while potentially reducing long-term side effects. Thirty-two adolescents took a single daily pill containing two medications and were monitored closely for safety and how well the virus was suppressed.
