Simpler HIV treatment for kids tested in global trial

NCT ID NCT04337450

Summary

This study is testing whether a two-drug HIV treatment (dolutegravir/lamivudine) is as safe and effective as standard three-drug treatments for children aged 2-15 who already have their virus under control. About 370 children will be randomly assigned to either continue their current treatment or switch to the two-drug combination, taken once daily. Researchers will monitor the children's health and virus levels for at least 96 weeks to see if the simpler treatment works just as well.
