NCT ID NCT05095818
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether a registered nurse (RN) could help more women at risk for HIV learn about and start PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. About 440 women in OB/GYN clinics were randomly assigned to either standard care or standard care plus a PrEP-RN who provided counseling and could order lab tests and prescriptions. The goal was to see if the nurse-led approach increased awareness and use of PrEP.
