New program aims to empower southern black women in fight against HIV

Summary

This study is testing a telehealth group program called EMPOWER, designed to help Black women in the Southern U.S. start and continue taking medication to prevent HIV. The program uses mindfulness and coping skills in six online sessions. Researchers will enroll 80 women to see if the program is practical, acceptable, and helps more women get and stay on the prevention medication compared to standard care.
