First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study aimed to find out how many people held at the Nîmes administrative detention center have HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C. Researchers used rapid tests to get results quickly, since many detainees leave before standard lab results come back. A total of 350 detainees took part, and those with positive rapid tests received a confirmatory blood test. The goal is to improve care for this vulnerable group by making screening faster and more effective.
