New hope for kids battling Drug-Resistant HIV

NCT ID NCT04648280

Summary

This study is testing a drug called fostemsavir, combined with other optimized HIV medications, in children and adolescents (ages 6 to 18) whose current HIV treatments are failing because the virus has become resistant to multiple drugs. The main goals are to see if this new combination is safe, how the body processes the drug, and if it effectively lowers the amount of virus. It aims to provide a new treatment option for young people with very limited choices.
