Letting patients choose their HIV support shows promise in early trial

NCT ID NCT07439562

Summary

This study tests whether offering people a choice of support methods helps them stay in HIV care when starting or restarting medication. 140 adults in South Africa will be randomly assigned to receive standard care, in-person group support, or get to choose their support option (in-person groups, WhatsApp groups, or an AI chatbot). The research aims to see if having a choice makes the support more appealing and helps people stick with their treatment.
