First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether Hirudoid ointment can reduce bruising after Botox injections for crow's feet. 48 adults will apply the ointment to one side of their face and nothing to the other, then compare bruising over 10 days. The goal is to find a simple way to speed up recovery and minimize side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Hirudoid (heparinoid) ointment
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, at-home ointment to reduce bruising and speed recovery after Botox injections for crow's feet.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 48 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the ointment might not significantly reduce bruising compared to no treatment.
