New RNA test reveals which chemo combo works best for rare abdominal cancer
NCT ID NCT06839378
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested two different heated chemotherapy regimens (cisplatin alone vs. cisplatin plus docetaxel) in 36 people with pseudomyxoma peritonei, a rare abdominal cancer. Researchers used a new technique called Flura-seq to measure changes in newly made RNA in tumor tissue before and after treatment. The goal was to see which regimen caused more molecular changes, which may indicate better effectiveness. This was a completed, early-stage study focused on understanding how the drugs work at the genetic level, not on curing the disease.
