Hip surgery Wash-Off: which antiseptic heals best?
NCT ID NCT07104084
Summary
This study aims to find out which of two common antiseptic washing solutions leads to better wound healing after total hip replacement surgery. About 420 patients needing a hip replacement will be randomly assigned to have their surgical wound rinsed with either a povidone-iodine or a chlorhexidine solution just before it is closed. Researchers will then track how well the incision heals and look for any complications over the following weeks.
