New hip implant put to the test: does it keep metal out of your blood?
NCT ID NCT05547984
Summary
This study is comparing two different inserts used in total hip replacement surgery. Researchers want to see if a newer type of insert releases similar amounts of metal into the bloodstream as the standard insert that has been used for decades. The study will enroll 100 adults with severe hip arthritis who need a first-time hip replacement to measure metal levels and track how well their hip functions and moves afterward.
