Scientists track antibiotics inside hip joints to fight stubborn infections

NCT ID NCT07299591

Summary

This study aims to better understand how well antibiotics work when treating an infected hip replacement. Researchers will use a special monitoring technique to measure antibiotic levels directly in the hip joint of 30 patients for two weeks after surgery. The goal is to see if these local antibiotic levels are linked to the patient's recovery and whether the infection returns within a year.
