Race to build a better hip: can new plastic make replacements last?
NCT ID NCT07207005
Summary
This study aims to see if a newer, vitamin-E enriched plastic liner in hip replacement cups wears down slower than the conventional plastic liner. It will involve 96 patients in France aged 55-80 who are getting a total hip replacement. Researchers will use special X-ray software to measure how much the plastic wears down over time to determine which material is better for long-term joint health.
