New hip implant tested to stop dislocations in elderly patients
NCT ID NCT03909815
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of hip implant cup, called a dual mobility cup, is better than a standard cup at preventing the hip from dislocating after replacement surgery for a broken hip. It involved 1,600 elderly patients with a specific type of hip fracture. The goal was to see if this device could reduce a common and serious complication, potentially improving recovery and quality of life.
