Summary
This study tested whether a special 'dual mobility' hip implant cup is better than a standard cup at preventing the hip from dislocating after replacement surgery. It involved 1,600 elderly patients who needed a hip replacement due to a broken hip. Researchers randomly assigned patients to receive one of the two cup designs and tracked their outcomes for one year using national health registries.
