New needle therapy could offer Drug-Free hip pain relief

NCT ID NCT07548034

First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for hip impingement, a common cause of groin pain. Researchers will give 30 adults either a home exercise program alone or the same program plus two sessions of a technique called ultrasound-guided percutaneous needle electrolysis, which uses a fine needle and mild electrical current to treat tight tissue. The goal is to see if adding this needle therapy reduces pain and improves hip function more than exercise alone over five weeks.
