Extra nerve block could ease agony of hip surgery
NCT ID NCT06839742
Summary
This study tested whether adding a second targeted numbing injection to a standard pain-blocking method provides better pain relief for people having hip fracture surgery. Researchers compared pain levels, opioid medication use, and how easily patients could be positioned for their spinal anesthesia between the two approaches. The goal was to see if the combined approach reduces pain during and after surgery, allowing for less medication and easier recovery.
