Nerve block eases positioning for hip fracture patients
NCT ID NCT07594366
First seen May 22, 2026 ยท Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a nerve block (suprainguinal fascia iliaca block) helps people with hip or upper thigh fractures get into a comfortable position for spinal anesthesia. Forty patients received either the real nerve block or a sham (fake) block before spinal anesthesia. The goal was to see if the block allowed them to sit or lie in a better position for the spinal needle, making the procedure easier and less painful.
