Six weeks to better fitness and sleep? HIIT study targets sedentary students
NCT ID NCT07256847
Summary
This study tested whether a 6-week program of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) could improve fitness and sleep in young men who sit most of the day. Researchers enrolled 56 healthy but sedentary male university students to see if this time-efficient exercise could boost their heart and lung fitness, strength, and sleep quality. The goal was to find a practical way to counter the negative health effects of prolonged sitting in this population.
