Higher labor drug dose may cut C-Sections for obese moms

NCT ID NCT04760496

Summary

This study tested whether giving higher doses of the labor-inducing drug oxytocin could help obese first-time mothers have vaginal births instead of C-sections. Researchers compared standard and double-dose oxytocin in 443 women during spontaneous or induced labor. The goal was to see if the higher dose safely reduces C-section rates and improves outcomes for this higher-risk group.
