NCT ID NCT07612345
First seen May 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether high doses of Vitamin C are safe for adults with two rare inherited blood disorders—Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD) and a type of G6PD deficiency. These conditions cause red blood cells to break down too quickly, leading to anemia. Participants will take Vitamin C up to three times daily for three weeks while researchers monitor blood counts and side effects. The goal is to find a safe dose that might reduce anemia and improve quality of life.
