Summary

This study aimed to find out how common a hidden hormone problem (called endogenous hypercortisolism) is in people whose high blood pressure does not respond well to multiple medications. Over 1,100 adults with this 'resistant hypertension' across the U.S. were enrolled. Researchers measured participants' hormone levels with a simple overnight pill test to see if excess cortisol was contributing to their condition.
