Summary
This study tests if a high-flow nasal cannula (a device that delivers warm, moist oxygen) works better than standard oxygen therapy for people with high-altitude pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs from high altitude). Researchers will enroll 200 adults who recently traveled above 8,200 feet and developed symptoms like severe shortness of breath or cough. The goal is to see which method helps patients breathe room air faster and reduces the need for more intensive breathing support.
