Summary
This study aimed to better understand the severe pain of shingles (herpes zoster) by measuring specific chemicals in the blood. Researchers tracked 30 patients whose pain did not respond well to standard medications. They checked levels of inflammation and pain-related chemicals at three different times to see how they changed.
