Summary

This study aims to understand if the length of time gas is used to inflate the abdomen during keyhole hernia surgery affects a patient's blood bicarbonate levels. Researchers will observe 100 adults having this routine surgery, measuring their blood chemistry before and after the procedure. The goal is to gather knowledge about how the body's metabolism reacts to this common surgical technique.
