Summary
This study aims to understand if the length of time carbon dioxide gas is used to inflate the abdomen during keyhole hernia surgery affects a patient's blood bicarbonate levels. Researchers will measure blood chemistry before and after surgery in 100 adults having a routine hernia repair. The goal is to gather knowledge about the body's response to this common surgical technique, not to test a new treatment.
