Lighter hernia mesh may mean fewer infections, less pain
NCT ID NCT06644612
Summary
This study compared two types of surgical mesh used to repair abdominal hernias: a lighter, softer mesh and a traditional, heavier mesh. Researchers wanted to see which mesh led to fewer surgical site infections and less pain after the operation. The trial involved 106 patients and was designed to help surgeons choose the best material for future hernia repairs.
