Second surgery for hernia pain? trial tests removing problem mesh

NCT ID NCT05484635

Summary

This study is testing whether surgically removing hernia mesh can reduce long-term groin pain in people who continue to hurt more than six months after their initial hernia repair. Seventy adults with moderate to severe pain will be randomly assigned to either have their mesh removed or to undergo a diagnostic procedure without removal. The goal is to see which approach provides better pain relief and improves daily function.
