First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a natural breathing reflex, called the Hering-Breuer reflex, still works in people who have received a double-lung transplant. Researchers will measure this reflex in 22 adult ICU patients during their recovery from breathing support. The goal is to understand how the reflex changes after lung transplantation and with different breathing machine settings.
