Swiss study tests herbal cough remedy to fight bronchitis and cut antibiotic use

NCT ID NCT05916768

Summary

This study tested whether a plant extract called Pelargonium sidoides (sold as Kaloba) helps people with acute bronchitis feel better faster. Researchers compared the herbal medicine against usual doctor care to see if it reduced cough severity and how long symptoms lasted. They also wanted to find out if using this treatment could help doctors prescribe fewer antibiotics.
