Herbal heart pill put to the test against standard drug

NCT ID NCT03809273

Summary

This study tested if a traditional Chinese herbal pill (Yangxinshi) could improve exercise ability as well as or better than a standard heart drug (Trimetazidine) in patients who recently had a stent placed. Over 680 patients who had their first stent procedure were randomly assigned to take either the herbal pill or the standard drug for 24 weeks. Researchers measured how well patients could exercise and tracked their heart symptoms and quality of life to see which treatment worked better.
