Ancient herbal formula tested in modern trial for debilitating neck condition
NCT ID NCT06377072
Summary
This study is testing whether a traditional Chinese herbal pill called Shenqi Sherong Pill can safely improve symptoms for people with a specific type of cervical spondylotic myelopathy, a condition where the spinal cord in the neck is compressed. About 428 participants with mild to moderate symptoms will take either the herbal pill or a placebo (a look-alike pill with no active ingredients) for 6 weeks, while also wearing a neck brace. Researchers will measure changes in symptoms like pain, numbness, stiffness, and mobility.
