Ancient herbs vs. modern probiotics: the gut microbe battle after polyp surgery

NCT ID NCT07442084

Summary

This study tested whether a traditional Chinese herbal formula called Modified Si-Ni-San could help manage gut health after colon polyp removal. It compared the herbal treatment to a standard combination of glutamine and probiotics in 32 patients. Researchers looked at changes in gut bacteria, inflammation levels, and symptoms to see if the herbal approach could help reduce the risk of polyps returning.
