Pioneering study offers hepatitis c treatment to pregnant women

Summary
This study is testing whether a standard hepatitis C treatment is safe and effective when given during pregnancy. About 100 pregnant women with chronic hepatitis C will take the medication for 12 weeks during their second or third trimester. Researchers will track whether the treatment clears the virus and monitor the health of both mothers and babies for a full year after birth.
