Blood thinner test accuracy under scrutiny in new study

NCT ID NCT07302620

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether common blood thinners (heparins) can mess up lab tests for another blood thinner called argatroban. Doctors often switch patients from heparin to argatroban, but current tests might not tell the two apart, risking bleeding or clots. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 70 adults on heparin to see if the test overestimates argatroban's effect.
