Hidden lab interference could put patients at risk

NCT ID NCT07302620

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether common blood thinners (heparins) can mess up lab tests for another blood thinner (argatroban). When doctors switch patients from one blood thinner to another, accurate testing is crucial to avoid bleeding or clotting risks. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 70 adults to see if heparin causes false high readings of argatroban levels.
